Kairi Keyblade by IsakSnow Kairi Keyblade by IsakSnow
this is the keyblade i made my for my Kairi cosplay for anime evolution 2007, it took pretty much all summer...gah.

Okay so, this is pretty much what everything is:

Flowers: Model magic that was baked.
the rod: a rake rod with a lot of paint
the base heart shaped thingy: carved plywood
paupu fruit: sewed and stuffed, plushie style
and the vine: a thick metal wire
and there are pieces of wood under and between the flowers for support.

I had a lot of reference from [link] So thankyou so much YuraYura~!

How much time do you think you would've saved using a dowel and a Dremel? (and of course some others)

Also I have a question did you use spray paint on it or did you use regular paint?

hmmm, I used acrylic. Though I'm sure spraypaint would work fine too :)

Good key blade. I am working on one right now. I am going to use a pvc pipe instead of wood and paper macheing every thing but I am worried I bought a pipe that is too wide.

ah a pipe is probably a better idea... I found the wood was pretty heavy >_>;;

Ah yess... it's been a few years since I did this project, but I remember that part being pretty tricky. umm, I don't really know how I can explain it... I used a pretty small brush, and both colours should still be a little wet (but not not completely, a little dried) when I blended them into eachother. Also, you could try watering down the paints a little to make them a bit less poignant where they begin to crossover. hurr I dunno if that makes any sense or not...

ah thankyou! and if ur planning on any prop, i'd say use wood over plastic or something, much more realistic (but use light wood! cuz it can be really heavy to walk around cons with..as i discovered...
